Adrian improved his time by 37 seconds in 5 weeks. Pretty darn good!
Austin had some technical difficulties when he got tangled in the ring ropes.
Nice work. Remember that one of our primary goals is solid technical movement. If form breaks down early it means the weight is too much and although I appreciate the effort be weary of falling into the ego trap. Technique, Consistency, Intensity.
So one minute more for ten more pounds. That's pretty good. As I said in class, you were not hitting lockout in the majority of the reps. I would consider moving down to 80 and cleaning up the technique before doing it at 85 again. But that is just my humble opinion.
Mac, let us know how you do in case we don't see you.
Jamie's post of weighted muscle ups inspired me to do one at 20# this morning. I just did the one as a tester. Maybe with a good tailwind I get three reps. Hard! Will be a nice progression WOD.
Good group, good work from everyone. Cool that you came in Adrian. Sorry you did not get a chance to do the K/B swings, but thanks for timing the second round of Fran.
Silas: 85# Nice! 8:05 Mac: 95# Rocked it! Just a matter of time before Mac breaks 3:00. The dude is a pleasure to watch. 3:45 Lee: 95# Solid 4:58 Good to have you in front of me. Thanks Zach: 65# Nice effort. Zach makes pull ups look easy. 6:44 Mike: 80# Working my way there. 3:50
Steven and Peter were also in for the second and first times. Worked on Deads and SDHP then did a 21 15 9 85# dead and 45 SDHP. I think they like it.
Nice times! I did it rx'd late last evening after some dumbbell snatches and double unders (while waiting for a power rack to open up). Took me a little longer than expected - about 6:45. Broke through the first 21. Followed it up with KB swings and more MU practice (going for 12 soon).
Austin: 85# 7:17

I was too close to the rings with the bar. My last time, Mike, was 6:10 @ 75#.

Indeed - It's crazy how extra difficult an additional 20# makes it.
ReplyDeleteI should be in ... my last time was 4:17 ... looking for a sub 3:50 ... but my pullups don't feel solid so we will see...
ReplyDeleteyou in tonight Jamie?
ReplyDeleteI can't believe i am missing fran
